Pulse Width Modulated
The KBWS PWM electronic drive controls are designed to operate PWM and SCR rated Permanent Magnet motors ranging from 1/50 HP to 1 1/2 HP. They operate at a switching frequency greater than 16 kHz to provide high motor efficiency and quiet operation. Another advantage of PWM is higher output voltage (up to 130 Volts DC for 115 Vac line and 220 Volts DC for 208/230 Volt AC line) which provides increased motor speed.
KBMG-212D

The KBMG® electronic drive is an ultracompact, full-wave regenerative drive capable of operating DC PM or Shunt motors in a bidirectional mode. Its 4-quadrant operation provides forward and reverse torque in both speed directions which allows the control to maintain constant speed with overhauling loads, provides rapid reversing and controlled braking.

KBCC "R"
Chassis Reversing
The KBCC™ "R" suffix chassis control is designed to provide anti-plug "instant" reversing, solid state dynamic braking and rapid cycling. It combines all of the features of the KB APRM®. The APRM® eliminates contact arcing by allowing armature switching to take place only when current levels are near zero. Chassis Dual Voltage
This updated chassis control utilizes state-of-the art circuitry. It provides motor burnout protection with I x t current limit, trip times and short circuit protection. A jumper selection used to preset motor current eliminates the need to calibrate IR Comp and CL. Other features include armature fusing, electronic start/stop, LED array for power on, stop, antidemagnetization and current limit. Jumpers are also used to select AC line input, DC motor output, speed or torque control, and armature or tach feed-back. Dimensions: 7.00" x 6.25" x 3.00".

The KBCC-255 electronic drive is designed to control 5 Hp DC Shunt and PM motors. It is built on a rugged aluminum chassis and uses the KBMM ™ modular control, which contains Direct-Fed™ CL circuitry, for excellent performance and reliability. The unit contains a 42 Amp power bridge and armature and control fusing, which enhance reliability. An exclusive feature, found only in KB drives, is Auto Inhibit ® , which provides a smooth, safe start during rapid switching of the AC line. KBPB
Compact Cycler Reversing
The KBPB ™ is a compact version of the KBCC ™ "R"-suffix control. The APRM® is mounted directly to the rear of the KBMM ™ speed control. A built-in Barrier Terminal Block and its small size make the control ideal for installation where space is at a premium. The KBPB ™ is equipped with a built-in dynamic brake resistor, Accel/Decel trimpots and provision for AC line and armature fusing. This control provides functions identical to that of the KBCC ™ -R. A 5K ohm remote potentiometer is included. Dimensions: 4.25" x 4.38" x 4.90". Patented.
KBRG-212D
Regenerative Compact
The KBRG-212D is a compact version of the KBRG-240D. It is a full-wave 4-quadrant drive with updated performance characteristics. The control is rated through 3/4 Hp at 90 VDC and 1-1/2 Hp at 180 VDC. The drive contains a selectable jumper for motor current that eliminates the need to calibrate IR Comp and CL. The KBRG-240D also provides jumper selections for AC input voltage (115/230 VAC) and armature voltage (90/180 VDC). The control can also operate 90-130 VDC motors with a 230 VAC input. High speed CL prevents demagnetization of PM motors. Dimensions: 4.76" x 8.37" x 1.70."

The KBRG ™ electronic drive is a full-wave regenerative control, capable of operating a DC motor (Permanent Magnet or Shunt) in a bidirectional mode. It provides 4-quadrant operation which allows forward and reverse torque in both speed directions. The KBRG ™ contains many standard features, such as: armature and tach feedback, built-in horsepower selection, trimpots for Fwd CL, Rev CL, IR Comp, Response, Max Spd, Offset, Deadband, Fwd Accel, Rev Accel and Timed Current Limit. KBRG-225DE
Regenerative NEMA-1
The KBRG-225D is a NEMA-1 full-wave regenerative drive capable of operating DC PM or Shunt Motors in a bidirectional mode. Its 4-quadrant operation provides forward and reverse torque in both speed directions. This allows the control to maintain constant speed with overhauling loads and provides rapid instant reversing and controlled braking. The control is supplied with an operator panel. It contains a variety of features, including (%) Speed Meter, Start/Stop, Run/Jog, Forward/Reverse and Main Speed Potentiometer. Front panel adjustments of (%) Speed and Jog Speed are also provided. The operator panel can be replaced with a blank panel. See your distributor for details. All of the features of the KBRG-225D have been retained. 7.7" x 10.0" x 4.1".
KBRG-255
Regenerative - 5 Hp
The KBRG-255 is designed specifically to control 5 Hp shunt wound and PM DC motors. It is similar to the KBRG-225D (3 Hp); however, the SCR ratings and heatsink size have been enhanced. All of the features of the KBRG-225D have been retained* except that the current jumper selection and built-in armature fusing have been eliminated. A new P-C power board incorporates 35 amp SCR's and a rugged 45 amp barrier terminal block. Dimensions: 12" L x 7.7" W x 3.4" H.

KBWD-13,16
The KBWD-13, 16 models provide a low cost alternative for pulse-width-modulated (PWM) control applications. Their compact size allows for direct replacement of other types. Standard features include instantaneous short circuit protection, under voltage protection and KB's Plug-in Horsepower Resistor ®, which eliminates the need to calibrate IR Comp and CL. A potentiometer (5k), isolated analog signal (0-5VDC) or PWM microprocessor output can be used as an input signal. Dimensions: 3.63" x 4.30" x 2.51".

Pulse Width Modulated
The KBWD-15 Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) DC motor speed control rated 5.0ADC-120VAC provides excellent dynamic response to load variations. The control significantly lowers audible motor noise and provides longer brush life. It also produces less motor heating which allows a smaller, less costly motor to be used for most applications. Another advantage of PWM is higher output voltage which provides increased output speed. The KBWD-15 contains (I x t) overload and short circuit protection. Diagnostic LED for "power on" and "overload" indication are also provided.
KBWT
Pulse Width Modulated High Current
The KBWT series pulse width modulated (PWM) controls, rated through 12 amps DC, are designed for high current applications. Several models are offered, which provide the user a choice of input voltage and output current. An important feature of this control is its active bridge circuitry, which limits inrush current during AC line startup and prevents control runaway due to a shorted output transistor. The KBWT also contains (I x t) motor overload protection and instantaneous short circuit protection. Dimensions: See data sheet.
KBWM
The KBWM control is a compact version of our Multi Drive™ (KBMD). The control is packaged in an all metal NEMA-1 enclosure. This unidirectional SCR drive utilizes the KBMM speed control module, which prevents motor failure due to demagnetization, and contains AC line and armature fusing and a barrier terminal connection block. The KB Plug-in Horsepower Resistor® automatically calibrates IR Comp and CL. Dimensions: 5.25" H x 3.70" W x 2.9" D.
KBMD-240D
The Model KBMD-240D, also called Multi-Drive™, is a packaged SCR drive in a NEMA-1 enclosure. It utilizes the KBMM™ speed control for its electronics. The Multi-Drive™ is rugged and compact in size. It handles both 115 and 230VAC line inputs by setting the built-in Dual Voltage Switch. In addition, the single model can be used on a wide range of motor horsepower by inserting the appropriate Plug-in Horsepower Resistor ® . The Auxiliary Heatsink (optional) increases the rating of the basic unit. An optional Forward-Brake-Reverse Switch Kit is also available. Dimensions: 5.06" x 5.35" x 7.13".
KBPC-240D
KBPC-225
The KBPC Series NEMA-4X (IP-65) SCR DC Motor Speed and Torque Control is designed for applications requiring washdown watertight integrity. Its housing is ruggedly constructed of die cast aluminum which is protected with an acrylic coating. Exclusive Short Circuit and Timed Current Limit (TCL) circuitry prevents motor burnout and demagnetization of PM motors. Features such as Selectable Current Range eliminate unnecessary calibration of IR and current limit trimpots. Other selectable features are: Input voltage 115/230VAC, Output voltage 90/180VDC, Current range 2.5/5.0/7.5/10.0 amps, Input signal 0-5/0-20VDC, Armature or tach feedback, Tach voltages 7/25/50V/1000 rpm. Adjustments include: Min, Max, Accel, Decel, IR, CL and TCL. Standard features include: Armature Fusing, Electronic Start-Stop and LED Indicator Array for "Power On," "Stop" and "Overload." The KBPC-225 contains all of the features of the KBPC-240D except Armature Fusing. In addition, it is designed specifically for 3Hp - 180 VDC PM or shunt motors operating from a 230VAC line.

KBVF
The KBVF® Adjustable Frequency Drive is designed to provide variable speed control of standard three-phase AC induction motors through 1 HP. Adjustable linear acceleration and deceleration are proided, making the drive suitable for soft start applications. The output voltage is sinewave coded PWM operating at 16 kHz, which provides high motor torque, high efficiency and low noise. The KBVF is a full featured drive, and due to its user friendly design, it is easy to install and operate. Simple trimpot adjustments eliminate the computer-like programming required on other drives. However, for most applications, no adjustments are necessary.
KBAC-24D
The KBAC-24D Adjustable Frequency Drive is a variable speed control in a NEMA-4X /IP-65 washdown and watertight enclosure. It is designed to operate 208-230 Volt 3-phase AC induction motors through 3.6 Amps RMS.The PWM output operates at 16kHz which provides high motor torque, high efficiency and low noise. Due to its user friendly design, the KBAC-24D is easy to install and operate.Tailoring to specific applications is
accomplished via selectable jumpers and trimpot adjustments,which eliminate the computer-like programming
required on other drives. However, for most applications no adjustments are necessary.

The KBMA Series of VFD’s consist of 2 inverter models. Both models are rated from 1/8 through 1.0 horsepower and are housed in NEMA-1/(IP-40) aluminum enclosures The KBMA-24DF contains a built-in Class A, AC line RFI/EMI filter. Jumper selectable functions and simple trimpot adjustments make the KBMA Series quick and easy to use. For OEMs these Drives can be customized for many demanding applications.

KBSI-240D
Signal Isolator
The Model KBSI-240D Signal Isolator provides an isolated interface between non-isolated signals and KB motor speed controls. Signal sources include process controllers, transducers, microprocessors and programmable controllers. The maximum output voltage of the KBSI is 10 volts, which is a linear function of the input. The unit is versatile, since a single model accepts a wide range of voltage (0-25, 0-120 and 0-550VDC) and current (1-5, 4-20 and 10-50mA) signals, multi-turn trimpots are provided for Min and Max. The KBSI can be operated from either 115V or 230VAC 50/60Hz. Dimensions: 2.7" x 4.8" x 1.1".

KBET-240D
Frequency to Analog Tachometer and Follower
The KBET-240D is designed to accept a pulse input (produced by a Hall or Inductive pickup) and create two independent isolated output signals. The Tachometer Output is normally used for tachometer feedback. The Follower Output is used to drive a second control in a master-slave system. Two LED indicators are incorporated into the KBET circuitry. The "Power On" LED is used to indicate that the unit has AC power, and the "Pulse" LED is used as a diagnostic to verify the presence of an encoder input. Jumper selections allow for setting the AC line input voltage (115/230 VAC) and the sensor type (Hall/Inductive). Multiturn trimpots are provided to tailor the Tachometer and Follower Outputs for specific applications. Dimensions: 2.7" x 4.8" x 1.1".

KBAP-240D
Current Sensing Relay/Overload Protector
The KBAP-240D is an electronic DC Current Sensing Relay and Overload Protector for use with motors from 1/8-3 Hp. It can accommodate larger motors with the use of an external shunt. The KBAP contains five preset current trip points which can be further adjusted with a trimpot. The unit also contains adjustments for time delay and hysteresis. An LED indicates when the preset current trip point has been reached. External contacts are provided which can be used to sound an alarm or shut the system down if an overload occurs. KBPS-240D
Reference Voltage Power Supply
The KBPS-240D DC Power Supply is designed for general purpose applications where a fixed voltage is required. The unit is versatile since it contains two separate isolated outputs, each rated at 200mA DC, which can be used as independent power supplies or in series with a center tap for a +/-15VDC supply. The outputs can also be connected in series for a 30VDC supply. The KBPS is powered from a standard 50/60Hz AC supply which is jumper selectable for either 115 or 230VAC. Each output supply is fused and contains an LED "ON" indicator and includes a built-in Barrier Terminal Block to facilitate wiring. Dimensions: 2.80" x 4.85" x 1.50" .

KBEP-240D
Electronic Potentiometer
The KBEP-240D is designed to provide digital type control for motor speed control. It replaces a standard potentiometer with a set of momentary pushbuttons or membrane switches (customer-supplied) - one to increase speed ("up") and the other to decrease speed ("down"). The unit contains a separate meter output that can be used to operate a digital or analog meter. The meter scale can be calibrated to desirable units with the built-in meter scale trimpot. The Min and Max trimpots are used to set the range of motor output speed. The KBEP-240D can be used as a master potentiometer in applications where multiple potentiometer stations are required. Dimensions: 2.7" x 4.8" x 1.1".

Barrier Terminal Board Signal Isolators
The SI-5 and SI-6 Barrier Terminal Board Isolators convert standard KBIC® and KBMM™ controls to an isolated input. By using external resistors, the input signal can be changed to 0-100 VDC, 0-200 VDC and 4-20mA. The output voltage is 0-10VDC which can be rescaled via the built-in Min and Max trimpots. Selectable AC line jumpers allow the SI-5 and SI-6 to be used either with 115 or 230VAC controls. Installation is made by simply mating the unit to the speed control via the built-in quick-connect terminals.

Barrier Terminal Board for KBIC and KBMM
The KBIC® and KBMM™ Barrier Terminal Boards easily convert a standard control with quick-connect terminals to barrier terminals. Provision is made for AC line and armature fusing. The Barrier Terminal Board installs directly over the control by mating the Q-D terminals. A separate .110" jumper wire can be used to connect the I1 Inhibit terminal or, on the KBMM™, to the T or B terminals which are used for tach feedback. (Refer to KBMM™ Instruction Manual.) Fuses supplied separately.

Auxiliary Heatsink
The Auxiliary Heatsink is used to increase the rating of several KB control models. It is constructed of black anodized aluminum and has keyhole slots to facilitate mounting. When used with the KBIC® and KBMM™ models, the Auxiliary Heatsink has provision for mounting the Barrier Terminal Accessory Kit. Dimensions: 7.00" x 6.25" x 1.38".

Barrier Terminal Accessory Kit
The Barrier Terminal Accessory Kit converts a standard KBIC® or KBMM™ from 1/4" Q-D terminals to barrier terminals. It installs easily with its pre-formed wiring harness and is compatible with KB's 7" Auxilliary Heatsink. The Kit for KBIC controls contains provision for AC line and armature fusing (fuse sold separately).

Potentiometer Kits
Wire wound & Conductive Plastic.
The Potentiometer Kit consists of a 5K ohm linear potentiometer with mounting hardware and front panel insulation. Two types are offered. The wire wound type is rated 5 watts with excellent linearity and zero end resistance. The conductive plastic type is rated 1/3 watt and is fitted with a nylon shaft and isolated brass mounting bushing.

Forward - Brake - Reverse Switch Kit
The Forward-Brake-Reverse Switch Kit is a completely wired assembly that consists of a heavy-duty reversing switch and a 10 ohm-50W braking resistor. The switch contains an additional set of contacts used for Inhibit™ and dynamic brake.
